Apologies for getting the link out when we’re already halfway through the month, but my schedule is changing a bit and I wanted to make sure that I could keep Christie to the last Friday.
The Seven Dials Mystery is one of the country house Christies, lots of hijinks and tomfoolery that sadly ends in murder. When I went to Amazon earlier to see if there was a nice summary that I could copy/paste, I noticed that there were many shady version of the book listed. Aha! I may not be a genius detective, but the presence of copies with AI covers and free fonts can only mean one thing—the book is now public domain.

Additionally, it seems there is a Netflix version of The Seven Dials Mystery that should available soon. Written by Chris Chibnall and featuring Martin Freeman as Superintendent Battle. To be completely honest post-Sherlock and post-Doctor Who, for me, it is a no, but it will probably be as good as other Netflix Originals.
And in non-Christie reading, A Place of Greater Safety by Hilary Mantel, a long book about the French Revolution. This one we are breaking into 3 meetings, with the first meeting on May 17. The first meeting will cover Part 1 and Part 2, in my copy, that’s up to page 200. Expect another newsletter all about why A Place of Greater Safety is the book you want to read this late spring/early summer!
Future Christie:
May 30 - Sparkling Cyanide
June 27 - N or M
Happy reading!

Sorry I missed the last 2 Christie's. I am looking forward to rereading APlace of Greater Safety Again. I first read it after reading Wolf Hall, when that 1st came out.
